are you buying a plotter or a printer plotter...? I have a plotter, you can use different colors and layer them. A printer is $$$$$$

Re: anybody here cut vinyl for graphics??

I rent part of my store front to a printer that does vinyl graphics. Not sure if you are looking for information or just testing the waters to see if anyone could use your services if you bought one. Either way I can give you his info if you would like it.

Re: anybody here cut vinyl for graphics??

I am looking at the UScutter SC34
It is purely for hobby(sure I will do stuff for other friends on different forumns)

By the time I paid someone to design, make and drive to get the various decals I need for El Tortuga it comes out to be better to just buy a new toy I have always wanted

So once it's up and running and I have some seat time I can probably help some folks out

I was just curious if folks had pointers etc on types of Vinyl

I am getting a 24in roll of Oracle 651 dark green for the testing and initial run of decals about 100+ small sea turtles

Re: anybody here cut vinyl for graphics??

They will be down both sides between the rub rails...kinda like in nature when volunteers make the trenches to guide them to the water

So I did what anyone should do...I called "Sea Turtle 911"

Volunteers were there in 15 mins

Since we called it in (which apparently is rare...most folks don't give a crap)

They let us in their "inner circle" and we were treated like royalty...I followed this guy from nest to sea...like 40 pictures, every step I was a proud daddy

giving it hell...80 more feet to go you can do it!!!!

Light at the end of the tunnel and with head held high...into the surf

Good luck little guy!!!

not what you want to see....but I still have to get the cutter

Re: anybody here cut vinyl for graphics??

I have the US Cutter MH 721 and like all the cheap cutters it is affected by static electricity which will cause the program to reset or zap the chip that controls the height of the blade. I have only had to replace the chip once so I keep an extra one on hand now. It drives you crazy when it resets during a big job but for what I do it gets things done.

Re: anybody here cut vinyl for graphics??

Steve
I have read about that issue and plan to ground all parts the best I can so (fingers crossed) it doesn't happen; apparently alot of folks dont ground the frame to the unit since it's not in the "manual"

The forumn over there seems good, I have read alot lately

Re: anybody here cut vinyl for graphics??

I even grounded the case of the cutter to the wall outlet and it didn't really help. Seems humidity is the best thing to guard against it.
