ATTENTION Skoolies! Please join our convoy of buses for an epic trip across the USA!

Shout-out to all the rubbertramps and vandwellers! We invite you to PLEASE join our convoy of traveling volunteers!

We are rubbertramps, hitchhikers, trainhoppers, and backpackers that are touring across the entire USA. Our convoy currently consists of two buses, a motorhome, a van, a car, and a motorocycle!

We travel from town to town, giving back and volunteering everywhere we go, including work at no-kill animal sanctuaries, homeless outreach/support, organic farms, sustainable eco-projects, senior/disabled care, and much, much more.

Right now we are California, but will be headed across the entire USA soon before departing to Mexico and further south!

If anyone wants to join our bus with a vehicle, we would love to have you!

If you want to know more abous us, check us out at

That's an amazing thing you guys are doing. That's appealing on numerous levels.
How do you fund your fuel and food costs? That seems like kind of an obstacle.

It was quite difficult the first few weeks, but after proving ourselves by volunteering, the local citizens in each community recognized that we weren't the stereotypical "rainbow-hippie-festival" kids that they are used to seeing, and realized we were really hard-working and honest traveling kids that just want to DO SOMETHING to really make a change for people.

Because of that, people started offering side-jobs for paid work, tons of donations, and that all became much, much easier when we finally became a non-profit.

It's been a while since we've worried about not having enough money for food, supplies, repairs, etc.

We also do alot of communal spending which is backed up for everyone to see on a google spreadsheet, and the communal spending helps out alot to make things overall cheaper for the individual, especially in terms of buying food.

Very cool. It's great to see that kind of volunteerism, and in such a diverse number of locations. I can't join you but maybe I can do some volunteering around my location. Keep it up.

You mentioned heading south of the border. I hope you'll continue to post here so we can see how it goes.

Several wild life animal shelters/sanctuaries in my area including sea turtle nesting volunteers needed around may. and I have and can volunteer many a Boy Scout to help you in coastal n.c. If and when you make it to this side of town.

huckstah, try to stay in touch with this forum. We're spread out pretty thin across the country but may be able to help occasionally. Don't be afraid to ask.

What part of California are you guys currently in? You coming through NorCal on the way out? This is something that our little family has dreamed about, and although we haven't pulled the trigger on a bus yet, if you all are still rolling when we do, would love to link up. Looks like you have a full musical ensemble, which would be great to join in and contribute too! Best of luck on your travels! Please keep us up to date with your adventure.
