Bigger roof vent?

Howdy,
I see lots of options for roof vent fans for 14" openings but mine is closer to 24"(its an escape hatch). Does anyone make a roof vent fan in this size?
Thanks,
Andy

Don't know of any 24" RV vent/fans. What most of us do is remove the hatch and replace with sheet metal, then cut the fan into the middle. I used a tinted piece of Lexan and then mounted the fan in the middle, so I have a surround of ambient coming through.

Thanks o1mark. I hadn't considered that. Would it be easier to just add another vent/fan? Is it not a good idea to put another hole in the roof?

are you keeping the emergency hole? Are you reskinning the inside in wood or whatnot? If the answer is yes, then make a hole that suits you. You can delete the current hole and add another or two.

If you want to keep your hatches operational, just pick another set of ribs to put the fan between. Consider if if over a bed, or in a kitchen. Put some thought into where it would be best served.

Tomorrow I'm going to close both my emergency hatches in the roof with 16 gauge patches I've prepared. I do want a vent fan in at least one of them. But right now fans are low priority and funds are needed more in other areas.

However, I have some jigsaw blades that do a very nice job of cutting that 16 gauge if it's well lubricated, so next year I intend to cut a hole in at least one of my patches and put a fan in there. I really want 2 reversible fans, but I also want solar panels on the roof and a small deck.

So I will probably cut a new hole for the second fan, and build my own wooden hatch where the other emerg hatch was, with a ladder I can take down and put somewhere out of the way. At least that's what I'm thinking now. I will make up my mind next spring.
