Yeah, a compressor would be a nice add-on, then you could get air springs.

It will be such fun comparing and contrasting the two buses! I can hardly wait, but under the circumstances, I will.
Ah yes, technically your door is electrically controlled, and pneumatically actuated, while my door is electrically controlled, and electrically actuated.

To switch to air springs I'd need to swap the entire axle probably, or do a lot of structural welding... I will enjoy seeing what locates your axle -- for me obviously the leaf springs provide the axle alignment, for you...?
Until I drive my bus enough to see whether the leaves don't provide a good ride I'll be leaving them as is -- closet thing to maintenance free in a
suspension. I'll just be excited to run air-tools off-grid with the bus...

The air springs replace the load bearing part of leaf springs. There is a miniature spring that attaches to the frame on the forward end, like leafs. The other end is allowed to move freely and has the air bags attached to support the load.

Just send each other BeamNG configs

If only
- I had a pre-2003 version of the bus. Would need a new body, new dash, and a reshape of some of the dash parts -
- I had leaf spring rear suspension, and manually operated doors too.
- I had an option other than air brakes
- BeamNG were multiplayer

The nice thing with BeamNG is you're not stuck to one configuration of the bus. With my crazy desire to make this as moddable as possible, you've got tons of choice (maybe too much )

Someday I want to add "Interior Floor Covering" for a wooden floor addon, as well as "RV Components".

Oh hey, do either of you have one of those red lights that goes above the emergency exit That's something I could add pretty quickly.

Do you remember if it was similar to the stepwell light? Maybe I can recolor it red and nobody will notice

From memory, I would say similar, but bigger than the stepwell light. Notmuch bigger though.

I still have the light, I just do not know where it is at the moment. I only hope Banman says his light is still in place and NOT painted so he can take a picture.

Based on some approximations via measuring pixels in the picture I got 3.5-3.6in. If either of you do find your light I wonder how close that'll be :P

3.5" would not be far off if it is off at all.

Note that the electronics for the light and the associated buzzer in behind the panelat the back. It is hinged at the top and the black "button" on the bottom is a latch handle. The light is attached to the hinged door surface.

Please tell me if the video in the FaceBook link in the following link is a BeamNG simulation.

Definitely not. Looks like it's probably just some animation or basic physics simulation.

My red light is maybe a ¼" smaller in diameter than the step-well light, and the dome is not as deep, also, it's smooth on the outside surface. I feel like my light is an add-on feature -- the way it was installed you had to first remove the light fixture before you could remove the panel it's mounted on -- not good for future maintenance access... (it's the little things that overly annoy me...)

At least the spray painting missed the light!

In the following parts inquiry, you can see the lens is a Weldon 8026.

Oh yeah. I've been meaning to ask. This seems pretty close to the fender extension, is this the correct forward/back position for the wheel?

It's a pinto, like mine!

Oh and just a general question. Do you guys still have your "Thomas Built Buses" decals up on the roof? I just added it on the model and I feel like it'd be empty without it . If you can't tell, I'm enjoying detailing, this feels like my own bus just about .

The decal is a nice touch! I have removed our decals. In the future, if I get the urge I can get more from Freightliner.

Torque arms locate the axle on ours.

That's more what I expected rather than a mini leaf like Native described.
Wonder how much lighter your 'short' chassis is compared to ours?

I drove over a curb yesterday and I did get a surprising amt of sway...

Of course, my shocks are probably junk...
