So does that my wheel well isn't long enough? Again worth noting that the body this is modeled after is taller than usual. The wheel well definitely needs some touch up though

(oh, and the mudflap fits now :P)

Damn, that's looking good!

Of course my bus has leaf springs so it's a little different setup.

Wound up with a similar angle to your guys' mudflaps, to get around the (now re-done) body supports.

Anyways, I'd actually love to have a converted version of this at some point. The problem with that is my creativity level :P. So I've been wondering if maybe someone wouldn't mind seeing their own converted skoolie virtually? Just keep in mind it'd eventually wind up being public and you'll have people wrecking it too

The new, redesigned mudflap looks great! The picture looks like an actual real-life photo. Great job!

It would indeed be cool to have a converted bus as well. I am sure you could cobble up something very nice from all the photos on this site. As for your creativity ... you have oodles of it!

Started working on normal mapping now (adding rivets, small details)

I'm wondering, are there any rivets on the cowl up here? Can't find a detailed picture of this area.

Damn. That's very nearly the color I plan to repaint my Scout II !

If my wife sees this she'll get ideas...

She wants to repaint -- this view especially bothers her...
But the flat paint does show the rivets vs. screw locations, and the bolts holding the hinge for the door.

What's that little 'hump' there in the center for? Haven't seen it before.

Style and better drainage...? Couldn't really tell you. I don't think I have access to it from inside the bus but I'll try and check tomorrow.

Native -- I assume your bus has the same 'hump' in the center half of the cowl line?

Styling.......it continues the lines on the hood of the Internationals......might not be there on the Freightliners.

Great detail on the rivets, btw. I wish mine looked that nice.

If that's a Thomas the area circled is actually recessed mostly under the windshield.

Yes, I do. As near as I can tell it is for drainage. The windshields (where they meet in the middle) are almost touching the "hump" in the middle and have a little clearance before the spot where the hump drops significantly. I can barely get my fingers in under the middle of the windshield and have a little room at the drop. After the drop, I can get in there at will. I sanded the whole cowling prior to priming the area. A screwdriver wrapped with sand paper will get in under the middle of the hump. It is that close.

I also have no rivets in the cowling.

See my pic, post #147. I'd say the scale is pretty spot on.

To add to what ECCB said ... the windshield protrudes out over the circled area (cowling under question). The windshield angles back from the middle to the sides. The angles should be visible in the dashboard pictures posted earlier in the thread.

By the way, I like the color choice and look of the paint job!

The window does hang over the cowl. I just had a low FOV set in that picture, and the camera was looking straight into it.

edit: and now, drainage!

I can barely get my hand under the windshield to wash the cowl. Someone's dimensions are slightly askew.

I guess I've spent way more time around my bus with the hood open than closed...

I only discovered this by washing mine. Try that!
