Can I ID my Transmission with my VIN?

I am selling our converted 2000 International 3800 mid-size and a few have asked about the transmission. Is there an online decoder that is reliable/accurate? My VIN is: 1HVBBABN0YH261685

Any tips would be so appreciated.

Thanks so much.

I have used the repairlink to find information on my bus. You can also snap a pic of your transmission serial number and go to

https://allisontransmission.com/part...y-transmission

Plug in your serial number and they should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

The post above from Samarath is dead-on for looking up build-sheet info using repairlinkshop.

Your bus came with a ALLISON AT5454-SPD AUTO TRANS. Doesn't mean it hasn't been changed out to something else in its past though, only way to know for sure is to crawl under and grab the serial number off the plate that's on the side of the transmission and go to the myallison website and enter the serial number there.

Cheers!
Kevin
