Can someone tell me what this is please

I have just started working on my shuttle bus and have a question. I hope I can post a picture of it, I would likebto know what it is, and how to use it. A friend of mine has a 2009 4500 express bus with the samething, neither hers or mine work so I would like to use it if possible. I know they put it in for a reason, lol.

I tried, I can't get it to work. The best thing I can come up with on Google photo search might be a engine management system?

It's likely an engine heater controller. Our heater was mounted back by the fuel tank and had hoses running back up to the engine. It ran on diesel fuel.

Edit: found my old pics. Here's the controller and the heater

Looks like parts are readily available for that.
