Can you negotiate price of a bus?

We have found 3 we want to look at not far from where we live. Two are 9 row and one is 6 row. Is buying a bus just like any other vehicle? I would presume it is, can you negotiate the sale price? The prices seem in line with what I have looking at on line.

Thanks,
Leslie

Re: Can you negotiate price of a bus?

You can base it on things like:

scrap steel price @10.50 a hundred lbs.->if it is 10k lbs. = 1050 total
scrap steel price @10.50 a hundred lbs.->if it is 16k lbs. = 1680 total
good shape steer tires are worth about 150 each->300 total
good shape recaps about 50 each->200 total
engine and trans if separated depends so this will give you an idea, if they say we can scrap it out for more than that

I paid $3500 for mine, scrap was at 11.50 a hundred lbs. and had great tires all around with no caps and ran great, plus bonus was rusted out stairwell (easy fix for me)

you can negotiate for sure, what are specs on buses? any pictures?

good luck

Re: Can you negotiate price of a bus?

Thanks for the replies.

I am not sure how to get a picture on here, but these are the specs:

The first one is a fairly short bus, as long is the inside behind the driver seat is at least 15 feet I think that is all we need for the floor plan I drew up. We have to tow a Jeep behind it and I was worried about overall length.

Choice#1
1994 FORD BLUEBIRD - 6 ROW - 35 PASSENGERS
8 built-in infant seats
LOW MILES (125K)
5.9L Cummins - FD1060
Allison AT545 automatic
Hydraulic brakes
Runs and drives like new
VERY FUEL EFFICIENT
Ready to work

Second choice is not on website anymore maybe it is sold! It had a flat floor and was a 9 row. It would have been the better choice. Maybe too late.
Anyway they are asking $6500 for the one above. That seems high for what I hear everyone pays for their buses.

We are going to look tomorrow

Re: Can you negotiate price of a bus?

like OPus said that seems x2 high at most, the brakes are enough of a pain in the azz to not even mess with..........UNLESS...they are newly rebuilt with no issues, otherwise
