can you put an RV cam in a ford 429 ??

Like others, I am happy with my engine since swapping from the ol 370. But would it be beneficial to put in an RV cam as well....would it increase torque a little at speed ? 0-45 is great but on the road with a load of peeps on our way to see Buffett it still lags on the hills. And while I know nothing will get rid of it totally I am curious about the RV cam.

I have been looking into the same thing for my 427 chevy. I know a guy that built a 427 "race" engine for his box truck and had nothing but trouble with it, he couldn't rack up the miles without valve trouble. Big cam, intake, ported heads, carb, headers etc. After telling him about my bus he thought a little RV cam and some port work wouldn't hurt anything but that's all he reccomended unless I wanted to get real good at pulling it down in the frame every winter. sportyrick

"RV cam" is a pretty generic term. I think it would be important to know more specifications of the camshaft before saying it sounds good or not.
Skooling state at a time...
