To quote the philosopher known as Hagar, I can't drive 55...

Except in my skoolie, where the bump between 55 and 65 costs me about 2 MPG. But in everything else, I'm usually pushing either the engine or the speed limit. I'm all for hypermiling, but I also prefer to keep my trips comfortable as well, and adding several hours to a trip in order to save a few bucks--because time is money, too.

Which is why I'm always trying to figure out ways to get the mileage up without having to slow down to speeds that are frankly dangerous on some of the highways and interstates these days.

there are other factors at work besides laws. take the spillproof fuel cans that became the only ones that you could buy in many places, not because they were mandated by law everywhere, but because california is a really big market, manufacturers don't want to make a product just specifically for california so they force everyone to buy the california version because its "cheaper" aka more profitable to just make and sell the california version. if it's the only one in stock what are you going to buy?

Thank goodness for people selling illegal replacement nozzles. One of the best investments I've made honestly. Replaced all of my cans nozzles

I''ve got a couple of metal military jerry cans that we bought a pallet of awhile back from a surplus sale. Pouring them sucks a bit, but keeping a funnel around is handy.

one of my cans has a shutoff nozzle I aactually like.. when im filling my mower its easy to miss just how fast the tank is filling so its nice I can just release the button the fuel stops instantly.. that can I can actually still bend the nozzle to fill a car.. only one ive ever see nthat was actually convenient...

the one I keep my diesel fuel in at home is an old school nozzle that works great..

I’m usually dumping 5x 5 gallon tanks into my 100 gallon tank to fill it up.

I cannot get fuel services to come to my home to fill it up. They require 300 gallons to come to you. So I’m doing it by hand and I need the fuel to flow as fast as possible.
