Cieling

We have a fairly new bus. The ceiling is in awesome condition. Thinking of keeping it. Any thoughts on the cons of not replacing the ceiling

Welcome,

It depends on how you are going to use the bus. If you are going to stay in it in cold or hot weather you will need good insulation. To get a reasonable amount of insulation without giving up a lot of interior space you would want to remove all of the ceiling and wall panels to accommodate the most insulation.

Good luck!

In addition, the bus *may* have leaks which you may not see but *could* smell as mold.

To add to PNW_Steve's comments, the outer skin of the bus transmits its heat and cold to the interior skin (the ceiling) through their mutual attachment to the ribs also known as hat channel.

I kept my ceiling after checking for mold. The factory insulation seems to work OK. I am not full timing or using in severe weather temps though.
