Thanks! It wasn't in my 5 year plan, but I've been super conservative for 3 years and made a lot of sacrifices for the last 25, so when it came along... I jumped on it!

05 with 16,000 miles~ $7500

Nice to see the prices on Harleys come back down to earth.
I remember when you could barely get a dealers attention waving a giant wad of cash around back fifteen years ago. Sportsters were going for five figures.
I'm waiting for an early evo with chain drive. Early 80's stuff. Or an OLD duo-glide.

I wouldn't even consider that an expense. Use it, take care of it, enjoy it, then sell for same or more than you paid. I don't think you will loose on that bike- he sold it in the Fall (low prices), nobody wants to store them. Come Spring, it's a $10,000 bike.

According to the mileage on the title and the mileage on the bike...

He put 1200 miles on it in 4 years... I plan on that each month!

I had the unfortunate experience of losing a friend a few years ago. who constantly "saved for the future".. that mercedes he always wanted would be "someday".. the 30 day mega cruise would be "in a few years".. he borrowed my jeep wrangler a few times and had the time of his life.. and said "one day ill have one of these.."..

he came to my house on the day they were installing the new solid-oak Windows and said "wow I shoulda ordered these for my house.. but they are probably over-priced.. but yeah always wanted wood windows in my house...".. I pleaded and begged and finally pursueded him to cancel the order for the cheapie vinyls and get what he "WANTED".. and he did... and it really made him SMILE!

"maybe I should go get that jeep.. or buy a condo on a beach"... 'YES! I said do it!'..

6 months later he was dead... over 4 million bucks in the bank....

Build that skoolie, travel the world, ride that motorcycle, so many i watch walking into the office buildings every day making big fat paychecks to feed big fat 401k's. that they may never ever use...

some planning is good.. but by gosh LIVE while you can!..
