yes, deny and cover up.....seems over the past 30 - 40 years that our politicians have embraced this as well...I hope to live long enough to see a politician own his/her mistake(s) and grow from them....I'm not very optimistic that it will happen, at least not on the national level.

I don't think governmental secrecy does anything to encourage politicians to own their mistakes. We need governments that are more open. I think open government should be recognized as a universal human right.
Obviously, there will be times when governments will need to temporarily restrict access to certain information, but the ability of governments to restrict access to information about government activities needs to have a firm expiry date.
It is my sincere hope that the Trump Presidency will help people recognize this need, and Trump's time in the White House will turn out to be of great benefit to the American attempt at democracy.

Agreed to the extent possible to maintain national security. There are many programs that will and should not see the light of day due to the national security implications. Well, at least within a generation of the life of the program.

Somehow the chinese pump has survived multiple thaw freeze cycles. ( I do have a spare for when it dies ).
If I get any kinda funky smell from the water tank I will disinfect it with bleech.
My drinkable water is stored inside in three 25 liter jugs, so I seldom drink the water from my tank, just shower and do dishes with it, it lasts about two weeks. 100 gallons would last me over a month, and at that point I would worry about disinfecting it.

Not to get off track here, but has anybody installed a uv light in their water tank on this site? I know some home owners that do that in their cisterns and it cuts down on bacteria/algae growth in them. I'm thinking you could get a cheap set of waterproof uv led string lights, run it off the solar setups most of you have, and never have to worry about purifying your tank again.
Granted, it wouldn't be good for heavy metals or voc's, so I'm not sure about making it drinkable, but it might be an idea.

I see that the governor of Florida *finally* decided that stay-at-home is the best thing to do right now!

I saw two news clips today that showed states that were early adopters of stay home directives are successfully "flattening the curve" while those who followed later are seeing sharper peaks.
Florida may be heading for a pretty rough time.

My pet peeve is that all of the "curves"show the TOTAl number of cases, not the number of "active" cases. We'll never see a drop in the TOTAL cases, only the active cases.

New cases may be the best indicator of our progress or lack of.
When new cases daily begins to drop we will be showing some progress.

I see that the Mayor of LA asked people to wear masks, any kind of masks, even bandanas. Very curious to see if anyone repeats his message.
The link does end up in the right spot, but it's just a still photo. A video would be intersting to see.

I don't know about all this, but last night I went on a first date -- 6 feet plus of separation. We walked along the beach. At the end of the date I reached in with my elbow. Maybe we were 3 feet from each other. She held up her arm and we touched elbows! Love in the time of corona.

I’m sure glad that the hardware stores are still open. I’ve also been able to get in touch manufacturers, the only exception being Camco who had a message on their voicemail saying they were closed by order of the governor.
I still hate going to the hardware store. I glove up and then wash my hands with alcohol before I get in the truck.

That mostly works against Vampires. Demons and werewolves don't much care about your garlic.
This Witch is planning to make garlic soup sometime... I freaking LOVE garlic... I wish I had 5 more bulbs... as it is I have half one lol
Reporting in from Southern Illinois... our number of cases down here is very low, and my county is surrounded on all side by counties that haven't had any cases.. None in home county. We're pretty isolated here, usually to get anything of bigger importance we have to drive an hour. So that's become an advantage for now.
That said, my bus build isn't done yet. It runs, but the yard is muddy and I'd bury it trying to drive it out. Also no insurance or registration yet, and no Class C Driver's License yet either. AND it's still bus yellow. So even if I could drive it, it wouldn't be legal, in ANY way lol
But meanwhile, I have no lack of bus things to do in quarantine, so that's fine. Working on the ceiling right now actually. Gonna put up rigid foam insulation, furring strips, and finally painted plastic wall panels up there, all on top of the spray foam insulation. Mostly I just need to paint. Get artsy.
I'm glad there's a thread here. It occurred to me a couple days ago that this would affect skoolies in it's own way too, and that the forum would be talking about it. Sorry I've not been very active. Wishing you all be well! <3

I'd say the vast majority of folks I know here aren't taking this seriously AT ALL. People in FL are still repeating Trump's advice saying its going away soon and that its just the flu.
Just got a text from a very educated friend telling me this is all fake and its just to destroy trump. That was yesterday.
My parents have been shopping at Sam's Club in the villages with no masks or gloves on.

China's been saying to wear masks. I think all the early advice about NOT wearing masks is still being echoed here in FL.
Roxy was wearing a surgical mask when she did physical therapy on our county second confirmed patient. No gloves, just a mask.
I've been telling everyone who will listen to wear em.

Ron Desantis is a big as douche as I can imagine. It kinda makes me ill to think that folks could find a reason to vote for this tool. He seems comically bad, like he's meant to star in some movie about douchey idiot politicians.
