I don't know if she was still on the ventilator.
Her extended family is flying from all over the country, many of them in their 70s, because they wanted to hold her hand in the hospital. Now, they all want to stay in the house together and have a big funeral...
My buddy's having a really hard time - after his mother ran off and left them, his dad and grandparents raised him. They were all extremely close. The relatives flying in are people he's rarely seen in his life, and none of the immediate family are emotionally ready to put a foot down and say no.

If a person has it, and is still out and about, I wonder if they can be prosecuted in a similar fashion as one would if they were knowingly transmitting HIV.
I'm not here to start an argument about HIV transmission or discriminating against gay individuals. That's not the point of my post. So please don't take it as such or start that here.
But I think if someone is knowingly transmitting a disease or virus by being out and about is negligent and could be then considered criminal. And anybody sickened by someone in that fashion could then file a lawsuit against that person for the negligence and receive compensation for damages.

Yeah, but how do you prove it was that person who infected you?

It's possible if you use genomic epidemiology. If you do a full RNA sequence of the virus infecting each person, you can detect slight mutations. Typically, there is an RNA transcription error about every other time a coronavirus is transmitted to a new person. These transcription errors (commonly called "mutations") rarely effect the functioning of the virus, but can help scientists track the spread of disease.
Eventually, scientists will be able to pinpoint who infected whom in an epidemic. This knowledge could conceivable help limit its spread.

Since it is a stay-at-home ORDER, a call to the police will at least get an officer out there to servce a warning if not a citation.
-OR-
You could don your tyvek suit, respirator, face mask, and gloves and go over there to tell them all about it and that should the party persist for another 30 minutes, you will call.
Hmmm ... I did not check timestamps. The party may be disbursed already.
Edit: ... along with the COVID-19 virus.

Party's still raging. Lots of festive, ethnic music. Normally I get into the spirit too when they do this. Not today. I'm not gona narc on em... Wouldn't do any good anyhow.
Cop lives right behind both of us. No one cares in FL. They just wanted to have a headline that says FL is staying at home and observing the social distancing.
Out where I was keeping my bus at my buddy John's they're having lots of folks over tonight. Probably 6-10 folks out there grilling out having a big smoke sesh.
One guy out there works at the damn hospital!

I am pretty sure I already had COVID-19, first two weeks in Feb I was really sick, worst in my life. I had word for word what everyone says COVID-19 is like. Back then there was no test's for it. I don't get the flu in fact I have never gotten any flu's since the "Maine Flu" (as it was told to me) in early 2000. If I did not have COVID-19 I must have had COVID-18 or 20.

I've heard mentions on this forum and elsewhere of a "bat theory" and even some vague talk of a Chinese bio-weapon. I have not heard any details, never mind any evidence. But I wasn't expecting to hear any so I was not disappointed.
But now yesterday I got my first 2020 quarter in change at the grocery store. There's the regular picture of George on one side and on the other side there is an upside down bat. I think we can probably expect more conspiracy theories on the way soon.
I guess I had better get out the magnifying glass and look for clues on that quarter. My eyes are not good enough without a little help to see if there is anything that would explain why they put a bat on a quarter.
