You got that right, it's the all about me mentality.

This ongoing disaster was in the works for a long time. With an attitude of living the high life on the back of the planet and others on the same planet We still have to evolve. Hope we time for that.
But as long as more money can be made on coffins then on masks........ and as long as more money can be made on healthcare then on healthy food .. then we will get what we pay for....the biggest army in the world to keep living the high life.

Stay at home and let the scientists come up with cure..
If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
stay healthy,

Johan

we need solidarity, not selfishness, to get through this.

A few weeks ago 183 radio stations in 31 countries all coordinated for a show of solidarity. They all played "You'll Never Walk Alone" all at the same time. I woke up EARLY for it. That song always gets me. Our beloved Celtic play this song before every home game.

I know that really made me feel good. I love when folks all all come together.

When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high
and don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
and a sweet silver song of a lark

You just defined the values of the President and staff...

and by default anyone who would continue to support them...

Hey you said it, not me. I'm staying out of politics, even though I'm sure what I'm saying will touch on folks ideas of politics to some extent.
I really was just talking about my friends and family, but its definitely applicable to every level of the society we're living in.

What ever happened to solidarity?
We used to have a lot more of it.

I think that era may have been our high water mark.

Senior leadership sets the tone for what's acceptable behavior in the organization...

You can apply that at any level you like...

That's completely false. Don't paint over 62 million americans with such a broad brush. Doing so is akin to calling all those wearing blue mooches and freeloaders, which is just as false as your statement. Both sides need to stop with that crap.

But our current 2 party system has produced some of the worst presidential candidates that one could conceivably find in the last few terms. Current crop included.

Choosing between the two is like choosing between getting shot in the left or right foot. Neither would be the preferable choice. But here we are.

You're right, man.

We did our part to save the planet last election day. We stayed at home and saved the fuel of driving over to take part in that shitshow.

I hope by that you mean you voted by mail!

I can't condone not voting -- that's part of the social responsibility of which you speak.

We voted earlier and our voices weren't heard.

I don't think its so easily boiled down to good versus bad, prudent vs negligent. Surely the negligent are the most visible to us all, but people's lives are being ruined as we have this conversation because they cannot work. The government is doing things it has no authority or business doing and people are rightfully worried about it. There's no outlet for any of the frustration either which is a recipe for social disaster.

We just don't have a good answer to systematic disruptions. Think about what would happen with a strong solar event where there's no internet and quite possibly no power for a good portion of the globe. Anyone can criticize the response to this in hindsight, anybody. This is why be it Trump or Andrew Cuomo, I'm not going to look at the outcome of this like its either's fault. NY especially was going to be bad by matter of simple logistics no matter who was in the chair.

That all being said, I think you're doing the right thing, and I wouldn't doubt myself in your position.

I'm not criticizing it in "hindsight'. I'm doing it in real time man.
I'm seeing very prudent people and a LOT of selfish asswipes around here in my parts. Bless you for being somewhere better.
Miraculously gone in April, MY ASS.

Shopping for Easter dinner with Corona virus.

We sit here discussing the menu for Easter when the reality is that one of us is going to go to the market (no delivery here) and see what they are going to let us have for dinner.

If there were a way, Steve, I'd give you the giant turkey in my freezer right now.

Weather here is mild winds most of the time, can gust pretty good but rarely happens, right now we are getting high 30's over night and 60's in the day, can get up in low 100's in summer but mostly 90's with 50's at night. I have an acre here that I use less than a 1/4 of it. Most of my land is pretty flat. I have one neighbor on the next road over, 200yrds away and never see him, and one about a mile away that drives by every now and then. I'm about 3 miles off the main road, gas/diesel station that is pretty well stocked and a Dollar Store down the road from that. HD, Lowes, Ace, Walmart and all that are about 30 minutes away in Show Low.

Not charging anything for this. I will probably even help if you need something done. Not much going on right now here...

Thank you so very much for posting this!
