I got what you meant about Charlie.
My quip about Sweden was just a general comment -- guess I should have made a separate post...

You guys are young. I’m sure if you do happen to get this you’ll be fine. I’m almost 60, with COPD from smoking years ago, asthma and high blood pressure. But I’ll fight it off like everything else

I had influenza B in February. Went to the hospital and was tested with a swab of the back of my nose(not fun).
I was also one of the people who had a strange illness/virus in November. Never underwent any testing, was told it was a virus and to stay home. Felt crummy for 2 weeks, aches, feverish, and a stiff neck with bouts of pain. Went to the doctor again after my birthday and he "diagnosed" strep throat, was never tested for it. A week of taking amoxicillin later and I finally felt normal.

Don't you worry -- the bus has been committed to appear at some earlier scheduled events...
Meanwhile -- Ohio is looking to open up bars and restaurants with limited capacity in a couple weeks...
I hope this is not premature...

Nasty is an understatement. Minus the headache, I felt like I had a hangover x10 for 2 weeks. No energy, sore joints and muscles, chills, cold sweats, just absolute crap. It's odd though because nobody else around me seemingly got it, and I rarely travel so I can't pinpoint where I would have picked it up from.
I'm not the type to go to the doctor, so when I finally went and he said go home and get over it, that wasn't the answer I was looking for.
I saw a press release from Wilson Health in Sidney where they'll test for covid-19 antibodies. I doubt I've had it, but for 65 bucks it might be worth testing to see.

I'm thinking statewide it is. Most of your major cities are still seeing cases, so opening them up I believe is a mistake. Aside from a small segment of residents in my county, we've pretty much been flat as far as new cases are concerned.
I don't see an issue with slowly opening things where I'm at. However, people still need to resist travelling out of their home "area" to stop the spread. PPE should also be used when near strangers, I'm not certain how one would wear a mask while at a bar

See if you can find out who makes/does the test. Some are worth it and some aren't. Roche and Quest are two that are reported to be good.

My results were negative as well. But a negative seems to say the antibodies are not in your system. This could also be interpreted as “no longer in your system.”

I think it's pretty unlikely you're not going to have a testable quantity of antibodies present following a recent (as in weeks to months) infection. Lots of caveats thrown around since we don't know everything about this virus yet, but it most likely acts like the majority of similar viruses, in which case recent infection would produce an antibody response, and said antibody response would be protective against (near) future re-infection.

At least in theory. Stated as a "caveat emptor".... your mileage may vary.

Strange times indeed. We are watching the stats in Florida and a few other places to see when we can make another trip to the Sunshine State.

My daughter lives in Florida St. Augustine area and said she went to pickup food from a popular restaurant and while they had every other booth and table blocked off the bar was packed person to person and a line outside waiting to get in. Not respecting social distancing at all

Fort Benning is still closed despite Georgia going back to "business as normal." No clue when it will reopen, but my boss asked me to come into work on Monday. I suspect I'll be working half days for the next month or two until post reopens.
Since 16 December 2019, I've redeployed from Iraq, took 2 weeks leave, inprocessed into post from deployment, ouprocessed my old post, taken another 45 days leave, inprocessed my new post, then told to stay home again.

Thanks.
I'm curious where this is going to go from here. In Georgia, we sheltered in place far too late to contain the virus, half-assed it, then stopped before it had significant effects. Now, the state is doing a phased reopening. People are "just glad this is over with" and are happy they "no longer have to social distance." The vast majority of folks were wearing masks when going out in Columbus, GA before this. Now, they are a rare sight.
Most business owners are saying that they can reopen once. Their employees are still there because they've been getting unemployment or a paycheck subsidized by the government, and they generally have enough money put aside to restart operations. However, if they reopen too early and then have to close again, many will go bankrupt.
