There are articles like this in almost every small newspaper in the country. The big newspapers, interestingly, mostly aren't saying anything:

The paper here yesterday had a front page article saying, quoting someone from the hospital actually, how nice it was that younger people were getting sick more than older people, and they weren't staying in the hospital as long.

Some Floridians have had enough. The governor got heckled today, thankfully. He looks like a deer in headlights.

IDK what we can do but he's our governor till 2022 and he's hell bent on killing as many of us as possible. Spread the word- FL is in big trouble and our leader has totally failed us in every regard.

Another co-worker showed up today (pre-deployment) and told me two of his uncle's who live in FL have bad cases -- real trouble breathing...

But the same levels of government consider DUI and School shootings to be acceptable forms of death -- the problems simply too intractable to do anything about so you can continue to expect more of the same...

I'm wondering how my drive back to OH will be if more states sensibly start to "shut down" again...? Glad it's warm weather and I can simply sleep in my car if I have to...

Images and videos coming from folks visiting Disney show lack of distancing. One lady was seen by disney staff with covid symptoms and they let her back into the park. Its in the FL Coronavirus subreddit. Lots of good info on there. But its all scary.

Pretty sure Disney is last on my list of places to be during a pandemic along with anywhere there are people. I don't even like going to the grocery store. WTF are people thinking?

You break it, you buy it.

Disney owns the Coronavirus crisis in Florida now. This will blow up in their faces. But why? The company is flush with cash and doesn't desperately need the money.

We have had our first 'unoffical' death from Covid in our county. I'm not sure if they are willing to make it official. He was a good friend of mine, and a pillar in our community. Maybe now the locals will start to take things more serious. Subsequently, my entire future plans for being retired and on the road in a school bus may change depending on what his family decides to do with his business. I had talked with him about buying from him about 10 years ago, but he wasn't ready to give it up.

Stay tuned, my bus may be for sale very soon...…..

Anyone else noticing the conspiracy theories going haywire the last few days?

Current "facts" making the rounds:

1. People are being tested multiple times and being double or quadruple-counted in the stats

2. There are people receiving phone calls of "positive" tests despite never being tested

3. States are including "confirmed contact with a positive case" as a positive test result

4. There are labs that have been caught recording every test as positive

5. People on the news in coronavirus wards are paid actors

6. The whole covid "hoax" is just to influence the upcoming election

7. Almost all new cases are being spread by BLM protestors and illegal immigrants from Mexico

I'm sure there are others, but this stuff is being spewed on almost every social media platform, overwhelming rational discourse.

I did not notice any of the above but this would be the perfect way to promote a conspiracy theory.

All these have popped up in our circles too. All the ppl pushing those ideas want to make certain politicians look less inept. One in particular.

10,000+ new cases here today. We've passed 300,000 total now.
112 dead, so the death rate is ramping up for sure.

In parts of Colombia the cartels are running the corona disaster. They're killing folks who violate their protocols.
