Went to the Cheyenne VA hospital for a shingles vaccine (trust me -- you don't want that sh!t either -- get the vaccine!)
I could've been tested for Covid on the spot if I wanted -- they had special tents set up outside the normal hospital entrance for anyone who suspected they had 'rona -- no reason to bring the virus into the hospital if you're sick.
I've got deviated septum's so I really don't look forward to getting my brain cells swabbed through my nose but I probably will before leaving WY to make sure I don't bring it home. Been around more people in the last week than I've been around since February to July...

Have you seen the latest from the whitehouse? They're cutting the CDC out of the data train.

A lot of what our leadership are doing is simply indefensible at this point.

Two of my 3 grandkids in Florida were really sick last night, fevers, runny nose, one was hallucinating and the other was short of breath. My daughter is freaking out because she says their primary doc is really no help. And she says they don't test kids? twins 5 years old and a 3 year old.
I told her to get tested herself because if she has it then they probably do too. Shes a teacher off for the summer but her husband still works as a volleyball director at a large teen volleyball association. I think he's at a large tournament now in Orlando.
I'm worried for them and I don't think he should be working with 2000 kids running around all week. Why do they allow this to go on?

I'll say it- they allow it because this is all political. I won't go into the politics, but that's what it is.
They're not looking to test children because that data would freak out the parents that are supposed to send their kids back to school in like 3 or 4 weeks here.
Anyone coming to FL right now should understand that this is 100% a disaster going on and its unmitigated. Enter at your own risk and to your own detriment.
Just about 14,000 cases today, with 156 deaths. It will be surprising if we don't hit our "goal" of 20,000+ in a day by the end of this week.

Our governor once again stopped short of a statewide order but did make it mandatory indoors for any county that is experiencing high cases, and he isn’t stopping local or business that want to require on their own. As a result masking rate is much higher, except of course in bars , as masks aren’t worn when people eat or drink so now we will see where the real case load comes from. I expect we won’t see much reduction as I believe bars are a high transmission rate.. that or churches.. mask ordinances don’t cover churches or well they aren’t enforceable

I definitely saw it. Our mayor is pissed. Rightfully so.
I also just read this article. I'm pretty sure we're the next Florida.

ECCB - seeing you so wound up over COVID-19 explains to me why you smoke almost as much herb as I do when I'm in Oregon.
I saw this article a few days ago. But the mainstream media did not pick up on it:
https://scitechdaily.com/35-of-exces...than-covid-19/
This social isolation business has not been making much of a difference to me. I'm already socially isolated since I left Oregon. Not many folks who like to do the things I like to do here. Like walk in the woods. I talk to the squirrels, tell them "hi" as I walk by. Some days they are the only ones I talk to. But now even that has become an issue:

My 4 year old was tested (negative), so kids are tested here in Georgia. Florida may have so many cases that they are rationing tests... Maybe you should get on the phone to call all her local test sites and see if any are testing kids with those symptoms.
Good luck

IDk if I'm wound up, but I feel like I could manage this crisis better than any of the elected officials. I don't boast or stroke my own ego, but I legit feel like we've been failed totally.
but yeah man when I get anxious I do smoke a lot more medical supply up.

Our cousin up in TN tested positive. Was super sick for about a week and is recovering. He was an anti-masker and was sure this was most likely a "hoax". His wife tested negative but is now having the symptoms. They have a newborn. The Dr told him "kids are immune". TN is going to be bad like FL.
They just had our aunt and uncle up to "see the baby" a week ago. They're also staunch anit-mask, anti-distancing folks.

Well, my county was doing really well with the social distancing, and people are masked up, but our cases are now beginning to rise. I guess it's inevitable in this tourist town. With the nice weather even the old are venturing out, after 3 plus months of staying home. The young people are doing what you would expect -- socializing.
Here in the Pacific Northwest it will probably be a brutal virus time in the fall when people go inside. My county has the oldest demographic in Washington State. This could be like a scythe cutting down the elderly (which technically I'm one but I sure don't feel like it yet .) My town could revert to it's past, before the hippies came in the early seventies. Then it was a town of old empty houses and no jobs.
The wheel turns.

Things will be scary when its also flu season.
Georgia is jealous of Florida's record breaking numbers so they're fighting hard to get their #'s up to or winning level.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53429800
Their governor is actually suing the Atlanta mayor over the mask mandate.

Ha!! I totally did not notice that, that is hilarious and ridiculous, and backwards as **** if the context is accurate.
edit: looks like she does have a mask on, but its not doing much good on her chin.
