We have had minimal outbreaks of the rona and now we will have a huge influx of people into the area. So far we have been lucky and tourists haven't caused a surge in cases. I guess we will see what happens with the bikers rolling through.

I've been saying for a while that I expect this to blow up in August.
The media is doing such a poor job of reporting that we'll be in full-blown crisis for two weeks before it hits the mainstream news. The numbers can be skewed as much as you want. It's when the hospitals are full that you can't hide it anymore.
Georgia is at maximum ICU capacity and Florida is about 30% over, but neither is a full-blown crisis yet. Here's my question. How much can you go over "maximum capacity" before you run out of "surge capacity?" Are we going to hit the actual crisis in September?

Two of my Soldiers are currently in isolation because they were throwing up and had a fever. The rapid covid tests were negative, but nobody wants sick people with non-covid spreading their illness right now.

Anyone looked into the accuracy of the rapid tests? Seems like lots of politicians test negative, get together, then end up sick.

There are a lot of different reports out there. Bottom line is the FDA is only mandating an 80% accuracy rate. Studies suggest that some of the rapid tests might be even lower than that.

Also worrying, there are some news articles now about false positives.

The student who took that picture was punished for it. Suspended from school! Sounds like a win-win to me.

So, we're all safe! I'm sure nobody in that school will get sick.

But in that pic, we are talking about minors. I'm not sure, but I think there are very serious laws about violating the privacy of a minor like that.
One should be very careful about posting such a picture.

Meh- in a public health EMERGENCY I don't see how those kids are being victimized by this picture... looks like a pretty innocent pic to me. LOTS of pics are taken at schools all the time. Even before covid- I promise you, man. No kids were harmed in the making of this pic, but I can almost guarantee you there's a silent killer no one sees in the pic.
I guess you're against freedom of press? Cause how is the student supposed to bring light to this situation unless by SHOWING what they're talking about? If they didn't have the pic then everyone would just DENY DENY DENY.

Oh come on. It's in the hallway of a public school, those aren't illegal, immoral, or inappropriate pictures. Here's another GA picture the school posted on FB, then deleted after getting flack.

It's not the act it's the whistleblowers exposing the act who get punished.
We lost a 7 year old to Covid this week here in Chatham County. No secondary illnesses involved.
****'s bad yo.

It comes with the territory. When I went to high school one in a thousand people had a camera now one in a thousand doesn’t have a camera.

Interesting article showing how much ICU capacity we'd need in different scenarios in Georgia.

Well, at least we're not arguing about politics. Or maybe we are? The rights we have as an individual in this country is the bedrock of America.
That said, I can be two ways in this COVID situation. The virus don't care what you believe, it just does it's thing. We can stop it, but we need to curtail our social existence. But sometimes I just want to live again.
