Attention Arizona Residents:
If you're having trouble finding a timely test, &/or require a free test (no insurance required) with a relatively-timely turn-around (<48 hours advertised), check this out:

It's not the most polished or intuitive web experience, but all the info you need is there. If you have difficulties navigating the site, feel free to PM. Depending on your location there are various events going on across the state in the days/weeks/months to come.

They gave me those pearls but didn't help whatsoever. I have an albuterol inhaler which helped when my bronchial tubes were in pain. Also gave me a Z-pack. I still get headaches and feel no motivation from time to time. I am not overweight at 160lbs at 5'8. Its been about a month maybe more since my wife and I got it from my father in law. Just today my friend came over with his son to help me get on the hardest piece of the bus skin which is the rear cap. He bent it to perfection and we got it on after about 6 hours. His son is much more OCD than I am and it came out perfect except for my pneumatic riveter not working. (Bolted the panel up for now to keep the seam sealer compressed.)
Anyway, I am tired and not motivated but their help was just what I needed to keep this going. Nice to have friends who just pick you up.

That's awesome work you're getting done, and lucky to have such good friends.
Almost 8:30pm and I'm still in the bus mounting camera's and pulling wires, bought this system 6 months ago so time to get 'er done cause summers coming.

I can't sit still! That said, I was sitting still until my friend had to get me up and out! Glad he did. It was the shot in the arm I needed to get the most difficult piece made up.
I know what you mean about taking 6 months to get something started. I too, need to order a camera system. did you get one with a DVR?

Its interesting that here in South Dakota our number of reported cases is actually going down. Back in November we hit a peak of around 20k active cases now we are down to around 6k active cases. It really doesn't seem like people have been much more carefull as far as wearing masks or avoiding public places like restaurants or bars. It seems about the same number of people are taking precautions as there were this fall. The schools have gone back and forth between in class and distance learning. I think a large number of our cases were related to school starting this fall.
I also wonder if the majority of cases were from people that were taking no precautions at all. Now the virus has run through that population maybe it will spread more slowly through those that are being carefull? I guess we will see what kind of a jump on cases we get from the Holidays.

Hey Simon
Yes it's four wired camera's and 9" screen with dvr. I'm mounting side body cam's and two on the rear, one straight down for backing in tight spaces in the the campgrounds and one pointing back long for travel keeping an eye out back. I will run an independent dash cam up front.
Sorry to hear your numbers today Charlie but that pic says a lot.

So the title of this thread is Covid-the effects on schoolies
Here's a take on how it's been on me recently. I work for the provincial government ministry of Hiways operating a snow plow. This past Monday night just before midnight I happen to notice a young man standing mid span on one of our larger bridges just staring out in the dark, what stood out was the fact that he was only wearing a T shirt. I put my emergency lights on and got my truck stopped in a turn out lane and hurried back out to where he was. As I approached him I said hi and asked if he was doing ok or having a bad day, he responded with a bad day. I asked if he was thinking of jumping and he said yep that's the plan. This kind of discussion being new to me I asked if he'd mind waiting five minutes and have a chat with me about it, so we talked about all the things wrong in his life and how he'd lost everything. I asked him his age and he answered twenty six and the only thing I could think to say was you haven't lost everything you're only twenty six you haven't had everything yet. This young man with a wife and four year old daughter was done with it and giving up and he said the uncertainty of what was happening because of Covid and being overwhelmed was a big factor. He and I talked there for about 30 minutes and then he agreed to come with me to a coffee shop to talk some more and warm up, as we walked to my truck the RCMP arrived and after some more discussion he agreed to go with them to the hospital to speak with someone. The police contacted me the next day to say he was doing well and for now that's pretty good. Now here's the real sh*tty part of this story, less than six weeks earlier I was in the exact same place with a young woman in her thirties and only noticed her because it was freezing out and she was barefoot, her abusive domestic situation was so bad she fled barefoot. She too said Covid and financial uncertainty was causing huge problems at home and this seemed like a good option.
So this is covid's affect on me, if I can encounter this situation twice in such a short period of time how many are missed/lost and don't get the help they need.
We've all had enough of this sh*t but we keep moving forward.
So now you all know when I say stay safe stay strong I mean it.

Thanks for this man. Sincerely appreciate the perspective, but not nearly as much as those two likely appreciate you.

My mom just texted me a bit worried. She works at the hospital, as I've mentioned. We talk all the time and they've been very busy, very taxed this whole time.
Well New Year's and the holidays have finally taken their toll and mom says "We're SLAMMING with Covid cases". She never sends texts like that. Its bad, real bad over there. We must be right behind Cali.
Now got another text. My step dad's co-workers and boss all went hunting last week in SC and all are sick AF and testing positive for covid.
Things are getting BAD here in Florida. Not hype, just real talk from someone living down here in the land of "masks are the devil" and "covid isn't real".

We had 17k cases reported today on the news in the land of Masks. I think this thing is getting spread from families and known parties who think one another is healthy. Many are asymptomatic and so it goes.

I agree with you. I know we sure got a TON of pressure from family to assemble without distancing or masks during the holidays. Now the effects of all that "family love" are starting to show.
