Disabling Rear Door Alarm

Am I correct in assuming when closed the switch is "open" and when the door is opened it closes the loop and sounds the alarm. If so, when removing the assembly if you leave the wires unconnected it should not sound the alarm? Or do those wires need to be configured so it won't sound the buzzer?

That is how it was on mine.

Opening the door/window closed the circuit.

Completing the path to ground caused a no start condition.

You gotta do your homework on those. Some of them are normally open, some are normally closed, some are normally closed-to-ground, etc.

So if I unhook everything and the bus won't start, then hook them together and it should. I'll play with it later.

I would put a meter across each switch and see what it is doing when you actuate it. If the switch closes when you close the bus doors, you should be able to remove both wires and connect them together to disable the switch. If the switch goes open when you close the doors, remove the wires and tape them up so they aren't touching anything.

My buzzer works when its grounded. I just unplugged the ground wire for now.
