Does anyone have stair like this?

I have these Brophy scissor steps.





According to the manufacturer they are intended to be mounted only when stationary and removed for travel, and the bracket they supply works that way. However, they're constantly in my way inside the bus and I need my precious space for other things, so I would like to figure out how to permanently attach them. I could just lock them onto the mounting bar but I think they'd be too heavy and bounce around, so I guess I'd want to find a way to secure them higher up, onto the back door, and then just let them down when I arrive. Is anybody doing this currently, and if so, how are you securing them?

Here's a link to the steps, which i definitely like a lot except for the fact that I keep stubbing my toe on them inside the bus.

Thank you for this link! I didn't know about this product, in particular, and have been trying to think of a stair system for our bed, since we're planning on having it decently high up and have a dog with a bum leg.

They make them in aluminum too which might be better, particularly for indoor use.

I have a set of stairs like that which I salvaged from a camper for parts for my build. I intend on mounting a bracket on my back door and the wheelchair lift door (fabricate an identical bracket) to aid in loading and unloading of things into the bus. Pics of camper parts are in my build thread (see my signature). as for storing them, I am just setting them inside somewhere.
