Electric Power From Any Heat Source

Electric Power From Any Heat Source - Really? Part 1

Entry in a boondock mad RVer blog. Some here may want to watch this one. I think the cost will far outweigh any benefits. Seems to work that way. But this one is interesting all the same. This guy does have pretty deep pockets but he doesn't assume everyone does.

Re: Electric Power From Any Heat Source

I'm building an outdoor boiler to heat my home, and i've recently purchased six thermoelectric generator modules to experiment with. I think it would be interesting to generate enough electricity to run a 15 watt circulating pump.

The delta t (temperature differential) is extremely important. With a 100*C difference in temperature from the hot side to the cold side, you can produce usable current. If you double the delta t, you quadruple your power output.

I plan to circulate water/antifreeze from outside (below zero C) to one side of the modules, and have the hot side touching the woodstove, which should be above 100*C, perhaps as hot at 200*C

I will let you know how things work out.
