Emissions help please

Hello!

I have a 2009 international and I’ve been asked to estimate the CO 2 emissions. Can anyone help? Thank you

One gallon of diesel fuel produces about 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of CO2 when combusted. A typical school bus will get around 10 mpg, so you'll be producing about 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of CO2 per mile traveled. How much CO2 you generate in total depends on how much you drive it.

As a 2009, your engine (most likely a Maxxforce DT) has some emissions-control gear associated with it, but this affects only NOx and particulate matter output, not CO2. The only advantage of Maxxforce engines as far as global warming is concerned is that they're highly prone to breaking down, which does limit their CO2 output.

Could be a Maxxforce 7 as well.

It depends on the model plate by the service door (could be a BE, CE, RE, or FE, maybe even an AE)

Using a CE for example: (I think they changed the model plates around 2012-2014) the CE200 would be a V8 (T444E, VT365, or Maxxforce 7 depending on year), while the CE300 would be an I6 (mainly a DT466E, or Maxxforce DT)

Now not all the International IC bus models had all engine options available and some only had a specific engine type. Example would be an IC FE, which was equipped with the I6 engine only and was marked as an FE300 as such.

Now being a 2009 model year, it would have the Maxxforce 7 V8 or Maxxforce DT I6 in it.
