This is a fascinating development, because every Econ 101textbook will now have to be re-written.

Of course there's also the small chance that political chain e-mails usually contain statements that are not based on fact, and are crafted to evoke an emotional response. Which wouldn't be a problem, except that real, live voters use these e-mails to construct and/or support their view of reality. Not that anyone here would do that.
