Flip Flop Seats

Has anybody built a flip flop seat for their bus. The back rest flips back and forth to change your direction of seating. They are used on pontoon boats where efficient use of space is critical.

I was thinking of building one for the dining table so that you didn't have to face the table all of the time. You can still use the base for storage and it's easier access.

I think I saw a build a few months ago that had one of these, in exactly the usage you're describing. Seems like a good idea as long as you're not planning to have anybody riding in it.

Old railroad coaches have seats with backrests that are reverse-able. I am planning on building one (unless I can find a railroad coach seat) for my dinette so people can face each other at the table or face forward for driving. Mine will be sturdy enough for driving conditions.

Try these for starting points... I am almost willing to bet that modern Thomas seat backs could be adapted to work simular to the first link https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=...AAAAAdAAAAABAJ
