Floor paint nightmare

I finally finished fixing my floor rust, priming it and having it ready for a coat of paint.

It was roughly 96 degrees but I figure the bus is under a shade and I have a big fan to ventilate it, so no time like the present to get my floor done.

It seems universe had different ideas.

Those of you in the east coast are now familiar with the cicadas or brood x as these demon spawns are also known.

Turns out, they are not very smart and also very suicidal.

So now, my floor is painted with a lovely leather brown rustoleum paint, along with dozens or so of cicada body parts from these idiots that flew into my fan and some lucky whole cicadas who are now stuck on my wet paint waiting for sweet release of death.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Brood X strikes aga ... actually I've never seen cicadas do that, pretty wild. I have a few spotted lanternfly parts embedded in my floor paint. Fortunately I was painting when they were still in the tiny nymph stage - a swarm of adults would have created a much bigger mess like yours.

Part and parcel of trying to paint any part of a vehicle too large to fit in any building to which you have access.

Wait till it dries then brush them off all the while being thankful it wasn't a 'brood E' as in elephant.

I miss the sound of those bugs when I lived in NYC. AZ has a different sounding version but more of a constant buzz. It's been 106º and I too have been out in the sun welding in my 115 gallon grey water tank supports. Let the paint dry off and you can easily touch up those spots once you scrape off the carcasses!

Now that we have a solution I'll be the first to say, holy crap! laughing with ya buddy not at ya!
All joking aside that's some great looking work going on there and in a year or two it'll be a great story to be sharing down the road
Cheers

You know these things are funny when they happen to someone else 🤣.

Sorry for your trouble. But as others have pointed out, it's fixable.
