Any consensus on this engine? I'm finding parts and reman's available and of course the Ford sites/forums love them...

AKA the ford 460, which has been used for decades. They can be fairly reliable and were used in a large number of pickups and RV's. It's a gas engine though, so don't expect some high hp hotrod or a fuel sipping machine.

Change the oil and keep the cooling system in good shape, and you won't have any troubles with it.

The 460 is a great truck engine a few mods make good power depending on the era. They are reliable for sure, cast iron, push rods, moderate compression, large cubes, relatively low rpm, and dirt cheap.
