Found ! Rare 2-Window Shorty

Found the perfect bus, just having trouble with the floorplan.... and fitting 3Kw solar on roof.

I want to move the entry door midship.

Is that thing a factory-spec bus or has it been shortened after the fact like all too many '57 Chevys out there?

Yeah, there were only four kids on that bus route.

I'd bet that thing would tow great, and think of the manuverability.

Very cool. Thanks Gandolph, I meam Tedd.

Just a thought. How much easier might it be to shorten a RE?

Much harder I'd think to do a RE- you'd chop the middle out.

I've seen dognose 5th wheel buses. That's the first FE I've seen set up that way. Doesn't the FE look like it has been shortened? I mean the wheelbase looks pretty short.

Could be, but BB has made some pretty short wheel base FEs.

That pic is a fine example of my current bus. That's 11' wheelbase center to center

That looks very similar to my '97 TC1000. With the original interior it was a hair over 18k, and 17k# with the interior panels removed. 26' in length. 11' wheelbase.

You could join the rear of a RE with the front of a FE, then you'd have a two-engined 4x4 Frankenbus, sort of like a Citroen 2CV Sahara on steroids. Of course, none of us here would dream of actually doing that . . .

In fact, come to think about it, you could sandwich a mid-engine Crown tandem with truncated FE and RE bus remnants, then you'd have a 3-engined 6x6 monster. OK, I'll shut up now.

Sounds complicated. I'm just going to stick with my Improbability Drive and Flux Capacitor.

I'll go with high compression hubcaps and dual overhead chipmunks.
