frozen brakes?

It's chilly here in michigan. 20 degrees would feel like a heat wave right now.

I encountered a problem the other day when i fired up my bus for the first time in about a month. The air pressure wasn't building like it's supposed too. As a matter of fact, it got to the point that it wouldn't build any pressure at all, forcing the parking brakes to engage. IF i was driving, rather than being in my driveway this could have been very bad

After talking to a truck driver, I found the problem, and a solution. Ice had built up in the line leading from the compressor to the tanks. I pulled the line off of the compressor, filled it with isopropyl alcohol and presto chango, the problem was fixed.

Just thought other's here might find this info valuable someday. It's an excellent idea to keep some alcohol in the bus in case this happens while driving.
