Re: Fuel prices & bus values

Scrap prices are way up which do not help us any. Locally they are paying $175-$200 per ton. At say 7-8 tons for an average bus you're talking $1600 to do nothing but drive it and drop it off.
Skooling it...one state at a time...

Re: Fuel prices & bus values

i have taken quite a few vehicles to the scrap yard, and around here you don't need to drain the fluids. I'm sure they do that after you drop it off. I'm also pretty sure they use some sort of weird scrap auto ton which is like 2200 pounds or something silly to help make up for the non-recyclable materials in the car. The local scrap yards to charge for tires though...either 5 or 10 dollars a piece, i can't remember. Better scrape the snow off the car too, they'll doc ya for that too. You don't even need the title to drop off scrap, it's pretty easy.
