holy crap the price of gas has hit a 1.20 a litre here 3.89 litres to the american gallon what are you paying south of the canuk border? how much is deisel? i cant even fill a gallon can anymore for 5 bucks! this is beginning to play a major downer in the bus hobby community, never mind the hot rodding soon we will all have kenetic busses with alot of pedals!

filled up my diesel vw golf today @ 4.09/gallon. It was as high as $4.19 the past week. Gasoline is almost $1/gallon cheaper.

i did notice that kerosene is cheaper then diesel. one of the new gas stations in town has biodiesel, not sure what percentage. I looked at that the other day, but it's over $8/gallon. What's the point in that? They also have off road diesel about 30 or so cents cheaper than regular diesel...thought about putting a couple 5 gallon cans in the back of my car and filling those at the station with dyed fuel then putting them in my car when i got home.

it's exactly the same fuel, except the off road diesel has a red dye added to it so the lawman can "check your tanks" to see if you're using off road diesel when you're on the street.

i have never ever been checked for marked fuel in a vehicle but i blew up a hodaka on jet fuel its looking like gas is cheaper than deisel here too how much for french fries?

What's a hodaka? Sounds like some kind of sushi -- must have been painful.

Kerosene = jet fuel = diesel = home heating oil = the solvent in WD40 = .... Well, there are differences, but only minor ones. Gasoline, on the other hand, is an utterly different substance.

When Graig Breedlove made his famous 675 MPH U-turn in the Black Rock Desert, he was burning gasoline in a jet engine. Do NOT try this on an overseas flight!

I tried to pump that stuff a few years ago at a pay at the pump but apparently your card has to be authorized by the fuel station to purchase it.

yes they are huge and the dye does not leave the fuel system for a long time. hodaka? a japanese motorcycle that was built in japan and assembled in oregon until 1978 or so had bikes that were called road toad combat wombat dirt squirt etc sure pulled the revs till she blew on that avgas!

Ah... "avgas". That explains it. Aviation Gasoline. Like automobile gasoline, but higher quality, purity and octane. Costs $6+ per Gallon these days, so nobody uses it on the ground to save money! But some use it in very-high-compression gasoline vehicles, like vintage racing motorcycles and whatnot.

All right, I'll say it. This weekend I burned 100 gallons of Diesel in Millicent in order to transport one person and three toy vehicles to a four-hour event. Granted, we were a bunch of old friends who met there, and played together, and introduced hundreds more to our hobby, but when we consider the big picture, IT WAS MOST LIKELY NOT A VERY WISE USE OF 100 GALLONS OF DIESEL.

I don't know about $7 a gallon... at least not in the near future, check this link out http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/ ... gasprices/ (and this was in 2005) I was in Europe about a month ago and they're paying double what we pay here...Gas in Germany was 1.47/liter X 3.78 (liters per gallon) = 5.56 euros per us gallon 1 euro = $1.62 (last month when I was there) that's $9 per gallon!

The problem isn't so much the price of gas, it's the fuel economy. Anyone else think it's strange that the average fuel economy (in the US at least) is no better than it was 20 years ago?

now all the canadian farmers are growing corn for ethenol and theres no more wheat! so now bread is going up! i have a great fuel milage tool its called bc ferries.....cannot afford to take the bus across at 200 a pop

[soapbox]Especially considering I had 2 1970's vehicles (1977 Toyota Corolla & 1977 Datsun B210 2+2) that averaged 45 & 55 mpg (highway) respectively, and a Canadian named Pogue (sp?), whose patents for a fuel system that allowed him a documented 100+ mpg on a big block Chevy (see your early 70's issues of Popular Mechanics) were snatched up & shelved by the automotive industry when his patents came up for renewal after his death.

There's plenty our government could do if they weren't wrapped around Big Oil's little finger. (Yes Smitty, the Federal Reserve's, Bilderberg's, and other's fingers, too.)

Our puppet government is just a facade for the incoming NWO.[/soapbox]
