Gas tank fill question

We're moving along quite well with our build and in prep for making our first trip we drove her down to the gas station and "filled" her up. However, when we got back into to pull out we noticed she was only reading 3/4 full. My guess was she was a slow marker, but when we got back to where we park her (about 3 miles away) she was still on 3/4. I've searched and cannot find an answer to what could be the issue. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

There is a fuel sender in the fuel tank that tells the gauge on the dash what to read. These are not always super accurate. Mine never reads full and when it's empty I still have 1/4 tank.

Thank you. I guess I'll have to talk to some ok ne and see if there is a way to find out for sure.
