Do you have one of those pancake gennies? Do you stay on paved roads?

I like the back roads and my front bumper frequently plows gravel. I don't have anything hanging underneath and I've never high centered.

i hang my gen and waste tank in between the wheels, pretty low.

the generator is on one side. on the other side is my fuel tank. i hung my waste tank underneath my fuel tank and still have 10" of clearance. its about the same on the gen side too.

One of the main issues on the big buses (like...40') is the rear overhang. My old BB had 12' behind the rear axle which made otherwise relatively small dips, and even steep driveways a big deal.

Unfortunately testing my theory got me banned from Yellowstone....

It varies considerably depending on the bus. My Bluebird RE with storage bays has poor ground clearance. Bad enough that I cannot get it down my own driveway. It is great on the highway but not much good when you leave maintained roads.

Some of the conventional's our local school district uses on rural routes have huge ground clearance compared to mine.


Look at the auction & dealer sites for pictures. Grab a measuring tape and head to your local school districts bus barn. Make some new friends
