Re: Going fishing at auction, hoping to catch 35 footer.
Well the time has come! Monday my wife and I are driving up to Henry County GA to get our bus. I'll document the whole thing and post it as the first thing on our build thread

Georgia has some really nice State Parks. We have spent a lot of time at Georgia Veteran's State Park about 12 m west of Cordele (I-75 Exit 101). We have yet to be disappointed in a Ga State Park.

Re: Going fishing at auction, hoping to catch 35 footer.
Here's a quick update on the bus. Couldn't get her started so we had her towed about 3 miles to a truck repair place. They couldn't work on it yesterday but are finally taking a look this morning. My wife and I are trying to make the most of our "layover" here but I can't wait to get out of here!
I'll let everyone know once we get it home safe and sound!

I like your attitude, keep positive!
One thing I learned back in the day was that nothing is as easy as it seems, especially with a bus!

Re: Going fishing at auction, hoping to catch 35 footer.
Well after 6+ hours of driving yesterday, my wife and I made it home with the bus. The drive was really smooth and enjoyable. The best part was the surprise I got when I got onto the interstate... my bus goes FAST!!! I was able to hit 75mph without any trouble. I kept it at 65 most of the way home but it was nice to have the power to climb hills without any trouble. Engine temperature stayed well within green. Not sure about oil pressure as the gauge didn't move... I guess I'll try replacing the gauge or something. Although it's hard to pin down my fuel economy exactly, my estimate for fuel economy are around 9-10 mpg. We are parking the bus out at a farm we work at a few hours per week. We're heading out there Thursday and Friday, so hopefully I'll have pictures so I can start my build thread! So, unless anyone has questions... I think this thread is done
See you on the build thread (I'll link it here when I create it).

Re: Going fishing at auction, hoping to catch 35 footer.
Nice! i was starting to worry!
Lookin for one of my own but keep getting way out-bid. The prices suck, these things used to be free for the taking!
That is one sweet bus, by the way. Excellent score, man. Looks very solid. I like the looks and ride of the flat noses but will likely go with conventional to save a few bucks and because I'm used to them.
Congrats again, and I hope to see that thing sometime. Great picture, you two look very happy and content with your new project.
