You friendly with them? Find out when their auction is. Talk to the maintenance guys and get the scoop on which individual cars are good. It would be a hell of a lot easier than dealing with shippers and buying sight unseen.

We exchange pleasantries once in a while but I just like to leave em be. Their cars aren't what I'd be after anyhow. Most of the local depts phased out their vics already. In my neighborhood they're all Taurus police cars. Not my cup of tea at all.
I only bid on local cop cars, its just not worth shipping a police cruiser they're so common.
The chevy truck is different though! This one was worth it, at least I hope so.
Looking over the specs the truck sure sounds like a heck of a 4x4.

I did bid on a Buick Estate Wagon hearse in Guntersville, AL last week. Woulda been cool but I was only half serious so I didn't bid very high. I've always wanted an old hearse. One day I'll get one.

Ghost Busters '56 Caddy Ambulance. Since the movies you probably can't touch those any more tho.

There are plenty of Ecto1's available for about $25k or so.

No truck updates unfortunately. I'm now waiting for this stupid shipper to get someone to pick up the truck.
I need to find someone for shipping stuff in the future. Why are decent shippers so damned hard to find?

ECCB...this independent did a great job for me and has hauled for a few other folks here. Can't handle 40 footers at last contact, but great for slightly smaller rigs.

Asap.
I'm hoping by next week but I want the truck here so I can assess the situation. If the truck can be relied upon immediately which I think it can then we will be selling it.
Should get somewhere between 8-11 grand out of it.

Doesn't sound an unreasonable asking. Unless they've followed your Trail of Tears on this thread...

I was being ironic, on the assumption the Sooba-Roo was [u]remotely[u/] worth that quantity of coin.

Kudos on the classic's early delivery! 🤙

Oh dang it now I see!

Its funny trying to spread the word about a horrible car yet planning to sell that car. The kind of person who wants it can't be dissuaded from buying one so it may as well be mine they buy haha.

My bad. On re-reading, your intent to flip the truck becomes clearer. The initial thesis to your reply was selling your POS, and you closed with an asking price...

Been looking for work, so I've been painfully good for months, since chemical abuse testing is a pre-requisite in my field.

Guess I'm not thinking too straight with a 0% THC content...

lol that's only one course. I've got Dr's orders to consume 500 mg per day of THC and as much CBD as I want.

Back to the truck- I thought I'd mention again how amazingly friendly and awesome the fire dept guy Jay is. I just love buying from small rural areas. He went over all the quirks of this 30 year old truck and I feel like I bought a good one. Everything works but the winch controller has some iffy connections. It also has dual fuel tanks but the selector is a bit finicky. One of the rear tail lights sometimes flickers a bit. Probably connections.
He said due to it being used so little that he'd put new hoses and belts and he said the radiator is original and while it doesn't leak and the truck doesn't overheat he said a new rad would be what he'd do. I'll take a look and figure all that out when I get the truck.
