For the bus?
My thermostat gasket is leaking so looks like I'm doing that again. Yay.

Intakes aren't too bad. Depending on the type of car. WIsh you were a bit closer, I'd totally drive over and give you a hand. How far are you bout two hours?
I re-torqued the bolts on the thermostat and can't get it to leak now. Gonna call that one done for now!

I drove the truck around and found my next thing to fix. The turn signals are suddenly operating backward. The left blinks when I turn the signal to right and blinks right when I turn it left. What the heck?

I think vehicles are like women ... the more you pamper them, the more they need pampering. My wife is VERY pampered! My vehicles not so much.

I pulled the fill plug to check the fluid level in the transmission on this truck. Immediately a ton of gear oil came shooting out full force. Someone did the old "fill it from the top" trick and must have put a few gallons in it. Its only supposed to hold around a gallon- just up to the fill hole.
And I noticed one of the bolts that holds the transmission belhousing on between the trans and transfer case was sticking out a bit so I tried to tighten it. It just spun freely. someone went at an angle with an impact on it I'd guess. How bad is this?

I'm just going to ignore the missing bolt for now.
I found out yesterday that I'm supposed to reset the ecu learning by unplugging the negative terminal of the battery for a half hour. Once I did this it REALLY made the truck run a lot better.
This is getting fun!

I sold a miata for someone today lol.
One of my good friends wanted a clean stock NB miata. Found him a 2003 Limited Edition in yellow. Fairly rare. all stock and mint. $5500.
He's on his way over to show me the car and go for a spin.

You have put a little time buffing your fire truck, it is shiny!
The two Miatas looks good too.

Determined my reman throttle body isn't up to snuff.
Its got just enough play in the shaft that the butterflies rock a bit into the bores causing a partial throttle sticking scenario. I though it was the old throttle cable.
Got an exchange started with RockAuto. Kinda hate rockauto and probably won't buy as much from them in the future. The shipping kills their low prices anyhow.
Sucks- it took me a few hours to put this one on. I hope they give me new gaskets.

I have been looking at Miatas off and on for the last year and it seems like all of the good buys are in Florida....... Here in Washington people are way to proud of their Miatas. Prices are lower down in SoCal but it seems like most of them are being sold with salvage title.
The quest continues.

I think we have the perfect Miata trifecta- a conducive climate, lots of retirees, and lots of beaches.
$5k gets a real nice one here. But ours is originally from WA.
