No clue how everyone else works but I've seen the prices on Rock change significantly... for the same exact part. I checked the part price then went back 3 or 4 weeks later when I was ready to do the work and whatever it was went from something like $150 to $50. Guess they got more inventory in.

One thing that sucks about online parts is the core. You have to pay to ship it to them to get your core charge back.
Not a problem with the local parts stores.

Very true. I think I've used them once for a core item.

ive never bought a core item from them... of course when doing anything custom its tough as you cant put your hands on the part.. ive used them for routine stuff mainly... other than that fender which sucked..

NAPA has alot of commercial parts if you find the right one.. we have a NAPA store that is nestled in amongst a bunch of local-delivery companies.. so there are a lot of dump trucks and box trucks.. lots of navistar 4300,4700 trucks so chassis parts are often on the shelf and reasonably priced as the independent diesel shops there cant afford crazy marked up prices..

I'm starting to really worry. Still no title. The lady who was my contact at the school isn't there, and they just keep saying it was sent last week.
Its only a matter of time now till the un-tagged van becomes my latest code violation! Goddamn it.

Going to get a new utility trailer in the morning. I was hoping to use the van, but now I'm just hoping I'll be able to title it this month!

Yeah, the cheapo trailer we had bought from Tractor Supply was a total piece of crap. This thing is nice, its even powder-coated.

I've never like to be too busy, this is new to me. I lost my job of 12 years and I sat around for a few years pondering my next move in life.
Now I'm my own boss, I make my own hours, and I'm so busy I barely sleep!
Lost titles are a pain. I'll almost surely have the city on my ass before I have the title.

Nah, like any real moped junkie I've got the entire garage full of mopeds. I don't know if the van would fit in that lil garage if it were empty.
The little space left over in there is filled with tools, oils, and various man stuff.
Hopefully we get this title situation straightened out. But they have told us that it was mailed thursday of last week. If that's correct its most surely lost in the mail.

Well, u can store it in my house if you like. Should fit inside garage.
If lost, at least u have bill of sales. Imagine buying from some Joe on Craigslist.

being your own boss brings with it a huge degree of freedom, however the other thing it brings is the burning desire to succeed and do more.. you know that the work you do for your customers grows your business, your sense of accomplishment, and your paycheck.. unlike working for "the man".. so the tendency is to work more and more.. "alas ever notice how much I have my laptop"..

the "social idea" or stereotype that business owners all sit somewhere with their feet on the desk is most surely wrong for 95% of business owners out there.

So now the lady at the school is back from vacation and says to wait till the end of the week.
Seems painfully optimistic to me.
I need to put this van to use, damn it!
