She sent the title to an address that's a hodgepodge of my two addresses. So basically its been sent to BFE.
What a hassle!

Its seriously starting to look like I'm going to have to physically go to University or Nebraska myself and get the damned title.
The thought of that makes my head spin.
Anyone passing through Nebraska or located there?
I'll pay you $100 to fedex me my title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they're actually ignoring me! My emails are being returned, re-routed to other employees, etc.
Without a title I have a $200 hunk of scrap sitting in my yard.

I'm sure you didn't expect that but damn.
Couldn't they have sent the tittle with the truck driver that brought your van?
Or at least put the tittle in the glove compartment.

SKOOLIE MAP shows 1 member close to Lincoln. might be worth a PM to him. Who knows, he might be 'your guy.' It would be great if he had a badge, and a way to remind them of their ways.
Good Luck

I just did a minimal Google search. But you might be able to get a 'bonded title'.
You can prove ownership with the bill of sell from govdeals.
If it comes to 'you going to Nebraska' vs 'paying extra fees here in Florida'. It might be cheaper to go about it here is Florida.

If the title doesn't show up in todays mail, I've found a nice forum member in the area who said they'd pick up the title for me.

talked to the boss at the dept responsible for govdeals sales. He says he's fedexing me a duplicate title monday.
I'm thinking of sending this, tell me if im too harsh...
Quote:
Jodie said it would be sent "Monday morning".
Its Saturday. We triple checked the address with her this time, and still no title. Its pretty evident that she hasn't sent it. I guess she felt like taking her time since "legally she has 30 days..."
I was PROMPT in my payment for this item, and had it picked up and shipped out as quickly as was humanly possible. I've done everything I can do to uphold my end of this deal and I've now had a van sitting in my yard for a month+ that I can't do anything at all with.
If I don't have a tag on it this week, it will have to be towed from my property.
The only options I see are-
a) Someone there other than Jodie taking an interest in helping me get my van's title ASAP.
b) Sending someone I know in Omaha over there to Lincoln to personally pick up my title and either fedex it to me or send it in some sort of insured, overnight way with tracking. This would be a major inconvenience for him but at this point I have to consider any and all options to get this thing titled and registered.
c) You sending a truck to pick up this van and refunding my money for the purchase price, auction premium, and the $1060 I spent shipping here.
|
so- should I send that?

CB, may I suggest you add the proper dates to the Friday and Monday you mentioned and anywhere else you might need it.
I'd wait and see what happens this coming Monday. If you don't hear from him then, fire that letter off on Tuesday morning and tell him you mean business. Other vans are out there bud.
Good luck,
John

If it was me, and I'm not getting anywhere with the seller; I would explore the 'bonded title' option.
4 Reasons You Might Need A Bonded Title
Reason #2: You bought a vehicle and only received a bill of sale
If you purchased or were given a vehicle as a gift and only received a bill of sale with your purchase, you might be eligible for a bonded title. Be sure to keep your bill of sale; you will need to this to prove ownership.
