I sent the director dude this today-
Quote:
Jodie said it would be sent "Monday morning".
Its now the next monday. We triple checked the address with her, and still no title. Its pretty evident that she hasn't sent it. I guess she felt like taking her time since "legally she has 30 days..."
I was PROMPT in my payment for this item, and had it picked up and shipped out as quickly as was humanly possible. I've done everything I can do to uphold my end of this deal and I've now had a van sitting in my yard for a month+ that I can't do anything at all with.
If I don't have a tag on it this week, it will have to be towed from my property.
The only options I see are-
a) Someone there other than Jodie taking an interest in helping me get my van's title ASAP.
b) Sending someone I know in Omaha over there to Lincoln to personally pick up my title and either fedex it to me or send it in some sort of insured, overnight way with tracking. This would be a major inconvenience for him but at this point I have to consider any and all options to get this thing titled and registered.
c) You sending a truck to pick up this van and refunding my money for the purchase price, auction premium, and the $1060 I spent shipping here.
I really don't see why this is taking so much effort. I'm not trying to bother you, but at this point the lack of title for my van has become a MAJOR issue for me. Not only do I not have a van to use, but I have new problems due to this van being untitled and unregistered.

Without a title I have a $200 hunk of scrap sitting in my yard.
Apply for a lost title? I've never done it but I bet it's easier than going to NE!!

I'd wait and see what happens this coming Monday. If you don't hear from him then, fire that letter off on Tuesday morning and tell him you mean business. Other vans are out there bud.

Good luck,

John
Any of your lawn clients happen to be a lawyer? Your version sounds like a pissed off customer. Which you are and have every right to be but if you type the same letter in legalese on letterhead you'll likely get more traction. I've already got your money so I'm not in any hurry to help since you're yelling at me.

Nothing helps anyhow. I started the email chain so I can have that to refer to when I contact GovDeals.

Their latest story is that they actually mailed it last weds. Well I have FOUR emails explicitly stating it was sent that monday!

Now they're saying they can't figure out what happened to the duplicate title and they can't get another one till next week.
I'm gonna root for whatever team plays the cornhuskers from now on for sure! What a bunch of idiotic weenies over there. I'm actually getting mad enough to fight someone right now.
Lousy bunch of corn-holers.

I wish there were a feedback system on GovDeals.

Silly question but are you barking at the right people? Never bought anything on Govdeals. Public Surplus ran the auction but I picked up my bus and title from the school system from which it came.

Shaun gave me a kicker 12" sub, two kicker 6x9's and also 4x6's. He threw in a brand new jvc head unit with all the goodies too!

Odd thing was finding cheap insurance. Progressive wanted 850 for SIX months! I laughed at them, called up USAA and got ins for 400 a year.

Immediate plans are roof vent, trimmer, edger, and blower racks in the rear on the open wall, and I've got to fix that loud, non-working power steering pump!
Other than that she's ready to cruise!

It's crazy how much insurance prices vary. When I first moved to FL, I had a 700 quote from Progressive and a 2300 quote from State Farm for my truck. Still too much for the coverage you get (FL may be the worst in the country for this) but I didn't feel too bad showing State Farm my finger.

I've no idea what it would cost even doing it yourself but I've always wanted to have a 36"~48" speaker on a servo driven mount in the back of a pickup. Pull up to a red light and when ghetto dude is rattling his trunk, I can point the speaker at him and play some Conway Twitty at him. No one but you wants to hear that $hit and you aren't even in the car at the gas station. Turn that $hit down!! ... Or else.

Hey Chris, what are you doing in the next 4 weeks?

Got time to wind wire for a 36" speaker? Sound quality isn't important as long as it's LOUD!!

seriously? wind a coil manually? lol that would take a long time.. if you just want LOUD!!! then just put a Train horn sideways .. or better yet get an old tornado siren and hook it up!. then again 480 3 phase might be tough in a pickup truck.. but an air tank and a train horn could totally do it..

Worked at Bose for awhile. I believe those were hand wound. Granted they weren't 36". I do know that they used octagon shaped wire so it would stack better and could get more wire in the same amount of space. I remember inspecting the incoming speaker cones. I don't remember if/where the speakers were wound.

Train horn is fine for when dude cuts me off. I so want to do that on the bus by the way. Tornado warning takes too long to wind up. For the guy at the gas station/red light, it needs to be music. Drown out his rap crap with the reddest neckest music I can find.
