Has anyone seen this bus???

I found this image a while ago that is the inspiration behind our skoolie buildout. I was curious if anyone has anymore information on it? I’ve only been able to find a hand full of photos of it, but this image is the one plastered all over the internet.

in some form its cool but I dont dig wood houses built on top of busses.. would your wooden house handle being bounced down the road in a 60 MPH wind with driven rain day after day?

seems OK if you dont drive far or your bus is parked permanently on a lot..

Die Antwoord fans apparently dig them as well.

Not a very "zef" look to me but everyone's got their tastes I reckon.

Wow that's wild...I've seen a few pickup trucks with wood houses built on them but not a bus.

It’s called a Mighty Mite, built by Thomas Built Buses.

This bus was just like the conventional body only a bit narrower, by a few feet

See how the back windows are more narrow than a typical conventional bus body

What are you talking about a couple of feet narrower? That's just a standard run of the mill old school bus.

I don't know, but looking at a close-up of the picture, that bus might not be 8' wide. Though without putting a tape measure on it I can't say for sure.

Standard bus, 1960's Dodge chassis. I have seen other pictures of it and from them you can tell it is not a narrow width bus. This photo does give a bit of a narrow impression.

Another clue is look at how close the outside edge of the Dodge cowl to the bus cowl

On a typical conventional, the bus cowl is wider than the chassis cowl

Well, I googled 1970's Thomas Mighty Mite and they do exist. That would be the few they built it in a conventional school bus model. They are narrower than a standard school bus. Here's a link that might help to verify the narrow Thomasbus:Station Wagon of the Day - 1971 Dodge/thomas "mighty Mite" | Station Wagon Forums
