On a serious note, I think only a lawyer's opinion will satisfy the OP. If it means that much, then the $200 or so will be worth the peace of mind. Just keep the opinion in the vehicle....

It is not the actual weight of the bus but the rated GVW, gross vehicle weight that determines if a commercial vehicle needs a cdl to drive it, 26,000 being the dividing line. It will be on a data plate in the bus near the drivers seat

This is what we've all been trying to say all along:

The main reason for a CDL (or any license over the standard operator's license, such as a chauffeur's license) is why the vehicle is being driven. Only once that "hurdle" has been jumped does the GVWR of the vehicle comes into play.

thats why I utilized an attorney... they did the research for me and read the *OHIO* laws.... and talked to people about the OHIO laws..

anyone serious about running a full legit business SHOULD have legal counsel of some sort nearby so handle all this type of stuff.. I realize its expensive.. but so is getting ripped by the IRS or going to Jail..
