Re: HELP!!!!

I'd say check all battery connections. Such as ground connections to the frame. It is also possible that all the hot wires meet at one location and if they are dirty or loose it would cause the power to cut out. I think this is what happened on a bluebird transshuttle/tc1000 to me once. Everything alternator, battery cable, computer cable ignition cables all ran to the starter terminal and I believe it came loose cause the motor to cut out.

I did have my 100 amp continuous solenoid fail on me so I wasn't able to charge my house batteries going down the road so I just moved the cable to the other one and have them connected all the time right now.

Re: HELP!!!!

Your amp meter doesn't have all the electrical load going through it but a very small bit. That "thing" you found is a "shunt" that has ALL the power going through it and a small bit going to the gauge in your dash for information about charging and discharge. Your amp meter reads the difference between the input side of the shunt and the output side with electrical resistance being the voltage change and the driver of the gauge. It sounds like that is your culprit. check all the wires going to the unit itself and anything else connected to it. Disconnect your batterys and tear that thing apart, you can't hurt it. All I did was touch mine and the amp meter started working again so I have issues there too. sportyrick
