Help choosing bus

Hi. I’m looking to buy a bus -either shuttle or short 5/6 window skoolie doesn’t matter- and mostly all I can find in my area are Ford E450 6.0L (both shuttle and school) but I heard that we should stay away from 6.0L engines. Is this true? Could you check out the following ads and let me know what you think?

The last is for a couple of Ford E350 7.3L diesel that I just found. Would one of them be good? What’s the difference between an E450 and an E350?

If you aren't extremely mechanical and have deep pockets, stay away from the 6.0L powerstroke.

The 7.3L Powerstroke is a very solid and sought after platform, especially with low miles as advertised. The difference between the 350 and 450 is the weight carrying capacity. You will reach the max weight much faster in the 350 vs the 450. If they were maintained well, those 7.3's are just getting broken in. great price point as well for what it is.

It's too bad, that first one is a nice looking bus.

Thanks for all your help! Unfortunately the two 7.3s sold already I was also wondering, are there any other types of buses I should stay away from?

School Buses....

A Shuttle bus with a gas V10 is what I suggest.

Aww yeah I’ve heard that before too so I’ve been looking but they’re impossible to find in my area, especially at a decent price

2 short buses

I’ve been looking for shuttle buses with no luck, but I found these two short buses. What do we think of these two? I know the one is a 6.0L but it’s 2006 and I heard that by then the main issues with the engine were sorted out. Is that true? The other one is as old as I am haha but it seems to be in decent condition.

Hi Khilborn,

Have you try https://www.govdeals.com/ ? I saw a few gas and diesel shuttlebus in Ontario region last week that's under $5K (by the time I checked - the auction was over ...sigh...) ?

I had been looking for the last two years .... someday, my bus will come.
