Help needed deciding

From what I have read through so far (over the past year lurking lol) you all know so much.

I am currently looking at 2 listings for 2 completed conversions. I need some help figuring out would be some of the pros/cons. I am not to well versed on mechanics so any input about upkeep and maintenance would be extremely helpful. ie yearly cost, gas cost, problems to look out for etc.

Listing one $50,000, which seems pricey to me but there has been a lot of work put into it. It is a 24-foot Chevy 2009 mid-bus General Motors chassis, (6-window) gasoline-powered mid-bus. With 121,000 miles on the engine and an almost brand-new, rebuilt transmission. (not sure what almost brand new means but it is in the listing.)

Has 16-100 watt solar panels, 800 amp-hours of battery storage, a composting toilet, fiberglass shower, 100 gallon freshwater tank, has a queen sized bed and a single bunk above it. Mid sized fridge, sink and heated water system in the kitchen area. And a mini-split HVAC unit, with recess lighting. It sounds like a whole lot of bus. Is this a good price considering all of this or is it too much?

The second one I am looking at comes in at $28,000, which is much easier on my budget. 1996 Chevy, 6 window bus with 25,000 miles. Is fully insulated, heated shower, has a full sized bed, 4 Siemen 55 watt solar panels, Grey and fresh water tank under bus, 2 Deep cycle batteries, Inverter for ac power with outlets. It is a bit older and doesn't have all the amenities of the first listing. Which is ok, I don't mind doing the work to put in a toilet or string up some lights.

Based on the age of the buses what is your opinion on the pricing? What are somethings I should be concerned with or what questions should I ask to make sure I'm not going in over my head?

At those prices you could pay to have a conversion done for you, to your exact specifications. And you'd have selection over the chassis.

As for whether those listings are worth it or not- bus conversions are custom built items. Its really hard to tell. Most people will say the asking price of $50k isn't in the ballpark.

If you've actually read much here as you say, you'd already know how overpriced those are. Why would you not just buy a motorhome if you want something done. The entire value of a Skoolie is building it yourself to save money.

Umm no

Absolutely not. From what I have read most people on here are pretty nice and helpful. Bold of me to assume I guess.

But no I'm not a fake poster just a first time buyer looking for advice not assumptions. So thanks, and remember to be kind!

Thank you for input, that asking price felt like a lot. Even with the consideration of parts and labor. I'm completely new to when it comes to pricing, it is easy to get caught up in looking at pictures and youtube bus tours. I have some money saved up and I'm ready to take the plunge. I'm looking to buy a bus with in the next month or so. Doing a custom build might be the way to go so I can get it to my specifications. I appreciate your help!

A friend of ours sold their bus to start another one. They were asking $45,000. Not sure what it sold for but it did sell quick. It was fully done. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So is price. Does it have value to you? I would have to say it might be worth shopping around for a conversion shop to see what might be offered as a comparison, built to your specs.
