Here's a big problem with the world....

I'm not saying an athlete doesn't deserve compensation.... But this is just asinine (my calculations at the bottom)

$674 million for 4 year contract
plus $167 million per year times 4
plus $139 million
plus $94.6 million

They are paid proportionately to how much attention they receive. The problem isn't how much they are paid, its how much attention they are receiving.

The now-absent pic was of a footballer (soccer) who apparently has been signed to make $1.5 billion over 4 years. Obscene? Yes. The biggest problem? Not even close.

why obscene??

the guy sold himself and his brand... more KUDOS to him for getting off his ass learning to play the game and figuring out how to market himself or who to call to market him..

perhaps anyone crying over the fact of sports players and TV hosts getting rich might ought to quit crying and go create their own brand or learn to play the game??

I'm not saying he didn't work hard and market himself and obviously since pro sports is a business then any team/owner willing to pay that much must believe he will recoup that sum in ads, endorsements, etc. Nevertheless, it is a mind boggling amount of money.

And what does this have to do with Skoolies? Will he buy 10,000 old school buses and have them converted into Skoolies and donate them to the homeless? I don't think so.

Just a note, my stepson played baseball in high school, one of his Elk Grove teammates (JD) drafted by the Astros and now plays on the Mets, another player at EGHS a year ahead I think plays on the Yankees (we don't like him, so my wife says).
So there ya go, forget a youtube channel on building a skoolie, learn how to play baseball is your best bet to make a million. lol

BBTW, my stepson trades baseball cards and thinks he will make a million..
