I'm a little bit of both (don't drink the tea in the BLUE MASON JAR. I'm SERIOUS), as I like all natural remedies (clove oil is good for you) but I'm also redneck enough to really enjoy Nascar (for the crashes).

But mostly, I'm Artistic. Soooooo. Yeah.

I believe the Politically Correct wording is "Appalachian American" and as an "Appalachian American" you are classed as a socio-economical repressed minority. So if you or your kids go to college, you/they can get aid because you/they are a recognized minority.

This is the one with the white lid and rubber seal I keep the Oleander in. It's the only one I got since I managed to get it back from whomever took it from Anna's house. Found it at Rocky Horror with my rice in it, recollect? Had this one back in NC.

and we didn't get aid for our son for college......because our house is 80 feet long (we rich)

We did our Kennebecs in 55 gallon food grade plastic drums for several years. No digging in the hard clay. Yield was 50 lbs. per barrel.


Planted my taters in two orange 5 gallon buckets (impressed with Recycle code #2 means they are High density polyethylene (HDPE) - used for milk, water, and juice bottles, yogurt and margarine tubs, cereal box liners, and grocery, trash, and retail bags.
Food safe and not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones) this year.... Yukon Gold and Russet... growing like weeds, need to add a layer of dirt to them already. I got a few more Yukon Gold seed taters in the refrigerator. I'm hoping I can hold them until I harvest the first bucket. This is a test. Both the buckets and the refrigerated seed taters. Alternative is to hold out one tater from the buckets to start another bucket. I used an "ebucket" this time. Mostly because I've never tried this in a 5 gallon bucket and I don't have a way to keep the buckets up off the ground. Apparently lots of folks have done taters in buckets. I took picks of making the ebucket and planting the taters. This weekend I need to take pics of the current growth & adding a layer of soil to the buckets. I'm wondering if the orange buckets will attract more masons bees/butterflies to the plants. I know the bees (mason & honey) were very attracted to the yellow and red of the food cart. I'm working on setting up a portable garden. The wind has taken a heavy toll on my strawberry plants. The cooler nights haven't helped either. I need to build 4 more ebuckets for the Brussels Sprouts. I would like to add a couple table grapes (1 red, 1 green). The food cart is now my green house and will also hold the "garden" when we leave here.

*Sigh* I miss the green. Only way to get green 'round here is to go sit on Campus, and while the Campus Fuzz don't mind me there, the students get annoying.

I see Pine, that looks like a Hickory, what looks like a Silver Maple, and a whole lotta GRASS. I kinda miss grass. I should plant some in a planter and have a tiny 'lawn'.

Reading through this is funny. I am for sure redneck (of the tech savvy variety), but also part hippy. I am disliking more and more being tied down to an area. I like the idea of being able to simply disconnect and roll out. We don't currently fulltime, as I am still finishing my bus, but there will be seasons where we do. I have one child left in public school, and next year she too will be homeschooled. I even have a job I can do remotely, just need internet. The bus actually came into being because we moved to Mexico for 6 months and my truck (1985 F250 with a built 460, lol) spun a bearing on the way there. As of right now, our current plan is to "roll out" next June and head to Redding, CA. Pretty much all I think about. I am sitting up in cubicleville as I write this and have had my fill. This isn't how I want to spend my life.

Actually, a church/school, Bethel. My wife and I would like to go to a school they have there to further prepare us for missions, our eventual goal I also LOVE the area. I know it's a ways away, but I work in Lodi a lot and love it. Don't have much time for Socal, but I like most of Northern California. The Shasta area is a pretty perfect picture of what my wife and I love.

Where in TN? I also work just south of Nashville a lot.
