Holiday shopping hours

One thing I hate about this time of the year is every store seems to like to close early on the 24th of december. I just got back from walmart. I called ahead to see what time they close tonight just to be safe at 530pm. The ladie although from a different country but I could understander her enough to hear her say 600pm. So I hurried up and took measurments of my snowmobile battery (I'm lazy and rather use electric start) I got over there at about 540pm. I went into the none food side and as I started to go in the employee at the door is telling everyone that they can't come in and I tried to tell her they close at 6 and I needed just one battery and she insited it was 530. I thought about trying to run in around her but I really didn't want to hasle with a police man so I left that door and went in the food door with out even a hassle. I went back to the other side where I started and to the back where the batteries are located. I find a battery that is about one inch shorter lengh ways but it will work and while I was doing this the voice on the intercom says to make your way to the check out as they are closing at 600pm. I went up to the self check out at 553pm and was in my truck and leaving by 555pm. As I was going out she was still there and still not letting anyone in. I didn't say anything as I left but I could see it in her reaction as I left that she knew I went in the other door. I thought about say something like thanks for nothing but because I like to think I'm better than that I didn't. On the 26th everything goes back to normal and I'll go on and have fun like always.

Re: Holiday shopping hours

I hear you. At the same time...we closed the parts store at 1:00pm today. Actually, it was 1:15 when we could finally lock the door. A closed sign means nothing as long as there are warm bodies inside, right? I wouldn't have minded if it was someone needing something like wiper blades for their holiday traveling or a little advice on a problem they are having, but who comes in with a list consisting of the entire suspension and steering system of a K1500 just for quotes (NO intention of buying today) at close?

Muh...December 26th can't come fast enough.

Yeah, I know what you mean! I get annoyed with the people like that. They come in the door as you're about to lock it (or as you're unlocking it to let someone out) and say "Well, I made it in time!" and I'm thinking to myself "No you didn't! If you had made it in time, you'd be LEAVING now and I'd be CLOSED!"
