I Got Me a Bus!

After finding this site a couple of months ago and thinking about what if, I am buying a bus.
I complete the deal on Friday and hope to bring it home this weekend.
It's a 1989 Bluebird TC2000FE 12 window bus with a Cummins 5.9 and Allison automatic transmission.
The bus has 196,000 miles, but runs good. I can't wait to get it home and start to implement many of the ideas I have picked up from you guys so far.

My wife is not very happy about a big yellow bus sitting in the backyard. She thinks the neighbors will be judgemental. I just think she doesn't want to look at it. I'm gonna order an RV cover for when I'm not working on it to appease her.
I'm sure none of you guys have had this problem. Ha Ha

I hope to post some pictures soon.

Welcome aboard!

I think I bought my cover on eBay. Used it when the bus was cut apart for roof-raising and looked more like scrap than a bus. Not a perfect fit, but much "quieter" than School Bus Yellow.

All my neighbors were judgemental until I got the paint on it- then the interior. I had them coming over to check out the progress, I could see it in their eyes they wished they had the guts to do what I was doing.

Yeah, spouses are sometimes a little slow to catch on to how awesome skoolies are, but hopefully she'll soon see the light. You've got a great model bus and engine. The TC2000 with Cummins 5.9 was definitely high on my list of desired buses. Congrats and welcome!

Re: I Got Me a Bus!

Hey Bender,

Tried to check out your bus site; no luck.
Do you have some photos of your bus? I need ideas.
Let me know if you are on the gallery.

Thanks
