I was at Costco today and ....

They had Diamond Plate vinyl (I think) flooring in the tool section. It's made for the garage. It measured 7.5'x17' and costs about $170 with tax. That's around $1.33/s.f. Do you think that would be good for the front part of the bus? It looks pretty durable.

I'm not sure if gm uses a simular product in all thier trucks or not, but I have now seen a vinyl or rubber (I really can't tell what material) diamond plate floor covering in two different k5500 models. It seems pretty tuff to me and thet also have padding underneath it..

I saw something similar at Sam's the other day and thought about putting it in the very front for an area easy to sweep the incoming sand out. It was fairly thick without extra padding and the diamond pattern was raised quite a bit. I can't remember the price but that sounds about right. I'll most likely use that or the truck matting. Whichever one I can get the best deal on. Carpeting is definately out for me. I may have a rug but there is too much sand. Vinyl or rubber flooring is the way I will go. It has to be pretty tough to last through vehicles driving on it. I figure it'll last longer than my bus.

Hmmm... Might that material give us the foot traction we
need on this steep and slippery ramp?

Thanks! Millicent is coming along. I'm kind'a proud of the ramp material -- one big
solid sheet of more-than-1/8" aluminum -- which was FREE! But it sure is slippery.

As for the alleged beauty, the jury will resume deliberations after the silly thing
gets painted. There seems to be some concern about her brainy forehead.

Check your local Costco, wherever that might me in Clear Lake. If they don't have it, they do in Modesto just off 99. I think it would help out on that ramp.

A Costco in Clearlake??? Burger King and Bank of America LEFT Clearlake!

Word is, a local body shop has it in the office, so I'll find it on my travels, now that
I know it exists.

And now, for you fine arts appraisors out there who question Millicent's pedigree based
on her unusually prominent frontal lobes, I would like to suggest some light reading
material for you to enjoy while I go on the road for a few days:

I'm kinda partial to the mono-brow above the new sheet metal, adds to the personality!

Probably taken at the 2005 Grand Championship Kinetic Sculpture Race.

When I see this thing in my rear view mirrow, I always pedal a little harder!

Now. This is called thread drift.
